WEIGHBRIDGE OPERATOR

The message
I want to leave is

Always believe in your goals and never give up going after them.

What drew you to working for MMD?

I always wanted the challenge of working in a factory. When Fabrimetal opened near my neighborhood, I decided to ask for a job opportunity. I use a wheelchair and wondered if it was possible for people like me to work there. It was!

What is your current role?

I work as a scale operator, and when my coordinator is on vacation, I work as his assistant for administrative services in the expedition and scales area. What I like most about my role is delivering the material (rod, angle and others) and interacting with the clients.

What’s your typical day like?

When I arrive at my work station at 7 a.m., I control all material that passes through the scale, with emphasis on the expedition of rods, angle, etc. I note the entry weight, take the receipt to the commercial area and then to the field for loading. Then I organize the documents to deliver the material to the clients. I really enjoy doing communication and image work for institutions.

What is your favourite part of working for MMD?

I appreciate the good relationship between colleagues here and that there is no prejudice or discrimination. I am also thankful that the company gives employees social help, such as school material for our children.

What are your future goals?

My ambition is to contribute to the growth of the company and to continue my own higher education, which will improve my income and allow me to buy my own house.

What is your greatest passion?

My greatest passion is to communicate with others.
